Malevolence is in no way a bad film, yet it's just not that good either. The concept of mixing a robbery-gone-wrong story with a slasher film is pretty original, but this only makes it's heavy use of slasher clichés drag it down into mediocrity.
Initial concept of boy being raised to be a murderer was done well. The second one probably had the biggest budget since they had Michael Biehn, Alexandra Daddario, and some other actors you might have seen. Third one was the weakest in terms of plot and execution but did complete the trilogy.

The Malevolence film series consists of American slasher-horror crime films, written, directed, and produced by Stevan Mena. The series center around various groups of people who come into contact with a serial killer named Martin Bristol, who was kidnapped as a child and raised in an abusive upbringing by a murderer named Graham Sutter.
Directed by Mike Martinez and Nick Groff, Malevolence is a dark, twisted, often surreal ride of a movie. Despite some weak acting in parts, Malevolence is highly impressive for its budget. The cinematography and editing are mostly top notch and the action scenes are appropriately gritty and gruesome.
