Review: Magic Magic is often advertised as a horror movie, however, I would say it's more of a psychological thriller with a very dark and intense undertone.    How good is Magic Magic?

   • Not a great deal really happens in Magic Magic, so in order to appreciate it you need to just go with its rhythms. It's helped a lot by fine acting; especially lead Juno Temple who puts in another fearless performance. I saw her in the recent Killer Joe in which she was very good and here she is even better in a pretty complex role.

   Why do so many people watch Magic Magic?

   • This is why so many people watch. The thing about Magic Magic is that these people could be everyday folks we'd pass on the street. It's about their approach to overcoming or at least dealing with a friend that has gone insane and needs help. This film seems slow and boring but there is magic in the fine details.

   It seems Magic Magic has been badly marketed as a horror/thriller and therefore it's easy to see why audiences are disappointed. However, what I found it to be was an atmospheric and gripping observation of the central character's fall into mental illness.
