Livonia has a more "Western" feeling to it than Chernarus. It's also more "flat" which caters to Day Z slightly better. It's really hard to explain but when you play on Chernarus and you see a player 600m out on a hill easily, its because the terrain isn't loading for you as well as it is for them.

Livonia is more lush and dense than Chernarus, making you more cautious for snipers. Animals are almost everywhere. Cars are more common (albeit not by much) Zombies are more dangerous because more spawn in around each other rather than being spread out.
