Jan 17, 2017 · Lilyhammer is Netflix’s first ever Netflix Original, well sort of. The cross production between Netflix and Norway station NRK1 was among the first of its kind and really was the spark of what has driven many Netflix series since.
Yes it is! I've watched Lilyhammer twice, and it was totally worth it. I thought the first two seasons were better, but I was not disappointed other than there not being more seasons. It's the first Netflix Original show! (done in coordination with Norwegian TV), and in my opinion it's good enough to be in the top 10 Netflix shows to this day.

It's a blend of smart, dark comedy comedy and subtle sarcasm wrapped in beautiful scenery. The characters are very likable and unique and become more complex as the series progresses. Yes, it starts off with a Sopranos vibe, but it's definitely not a mafia show...well, not too much anyway.
