Kooky the Koala was introduced on 1st October 2009. Kooky was originally released under the name “Bubblegum“, but was later changed to Kooky in the second release. The only difference between the Kooky and Bubblegum koalas are the swing tag and tush tags. Kooky retired on 28th June 2010.

Kooky is a koala who was first created on June 10, 2009 and was originally released in the UK, making them on of the first Beanie Boos every sold.
Kooky is made from a fuzzy grey material with large pink and black button eyes and a black button nose. He has a white belly and white material around the eyes. His hands, feet and the inside of his ears are all made from pink material.
•Kooky was formerly named Bubblegum, but was changed to Kooky later for unknown reasons, possibly because Bubblegum the lemur was released soon after Kooky

Rather than appearance, Bubblegum’s namesake changed shortly after its release. Ironically, Kooky, the newer version of Bubblegum, is also rare as it was discontinued in 2010. Did you know?
