Jan 17, 2021 · Milburn joined the cast following the death of Sid (John Comer) in 1984. He was brought in to help his Auntie Ivy run the Cafe “I’m learning the business” he often told people. The character insisted on being called “Crusher”.
For John Comer's last ever appearance, in the 1983 feature-length Christmas special, "Getting Sam Home", illness caused by cancer affected his speech, and so his lines were dubbed over by another actor, Tony Melody. Comer died two months later in February 1984.
