Taken as a whole, the Hopkins curriculum provides a solid foundation in academic disciplines, broad exposure to the liberal arts, and selective opportunities to pursue individual interests.

In 1660, Davenport founded the Hopkins Grammar School in New Haven and named it after its principal benefactor, Edward Hopkins. But it was Davenport’s dream to establish both a preparatory school and a college, and Hopkins had given him funding for both.
Hopkins is an independent, gender-inclusive, college-preparatory day school for grades 7-12. Located on a 108-acre campus overlooking New Haven, the School takes pride in its distinguished faculty and dedicated staff.
