“Hell Night” is a relentlessly lackluster example of the Dead Teenager Movie. The formula is always the same. A group of kids get together for some kind of adventure or forbidden ritual in a haunted house, summer camp, old school, etc.
Hell Night, to me is one of the most atmospheric slasher movies of the 80s. It has a great setting. I really enjoy it. I highly recommend seeking it out.

"Hell Night" is a fun little 1981 horror film from the producer of "Halloween". The plot is as follows - Twelve years ago, a man savagely murdered his wife and three of their deformed and disabled children, leaving only one son as a survivor, then hanging himself in his family mansion.
Jan 3, 2018 · Hell Night is a great horror movie, slasher or otherwise, and one that should be in any horror fan’s movie library. It has always been one of my favorites and here it looks great with its new HD transfer and comes with lots of special features.
A good example of 80s horror, Hell Night may have some pacing issues, and the ending may confuse and piss off some viewers, but overall the film is an excellent example of a genre shooting above its paygrade. It simply looks gorgeous, as is its cast of beautiful men and women.
