Goodfellas (stylized as GoodFellas) is a 1990 American biographical gangster film [5] directed by Martin Scorsese, written by Nicholas Pileggi and Scorsese, and produced by Irwin Winkler. It is a film adaptation of Pileggi's 1985 nonfiction book Wiseguy .

Author of the original book and co-writer of the film, Nicholas Pileggi described Goodfellas as a "mob home movie" to The New York Times, selling the film alongside Scorsese as being about the pursuit of money and the particular way this group of people chose to make it.
