Visually then "Gila!" is a horrible movie. Hard to comprehend how such laughably bad CGI effects made it to a movie, even back in 2012. The CGI in "Gila!" looks like something straight out of an early 1990s computer game. But it was these horrible CGI effects that actually kept me sticking around to finish watching the movie.

This 1950's-era movie revolves around a couple of drag-racing rivals and their friends who are routinely eaten by a giant, lumbering, irradiated gila-monster. In this particular outing, the true villain has got to be the editor who took maybe a 50-minute movie and stretched it into an interminable 91 minutes befitting its intended destination - a 2-hour time slot on the SyFy-channel.
Gila! is just another made-for-TV-movie that you know will be bad. The question is, just how bad. The question is, just how bad. There are horrible movies and then there are awesomely horrible movies, and it actually takes a good bit of talent to pull of the latter.
