It is bordered by the Manchester Ship Canal to the south and the M60 motorway and Barton Aerodrome to the west. Over the past few years, Eccles town centre has seen many changes including the arrival of the Metrolink, a new bus station, a new supermarket and a retail park along with a new state-of-the-art health facility.
