Though many consider the game to be fun I have heard that there is a cheating issue and official servers are a mess. I know there are community servers but I would enjoy playing the vanilla game before diving into the sea of mods. So I came here to ask. Dec 30, 2023 · I find Youtube terrible for DayZ content. You try to watch reviews or honest opinions on the game, and usually it's just guys showing off their kills and not actually discussing the game.
Illnesses currently present within the game include the common cold, cholera, brain prion disease, salmonellosis and more. It is possible to cure some of these conditions, but some can only be treated. If a player is shot or injured, items on their person may be damaged.

Community servers tend to be your best bet, but as others mentioned Traders, "Donation" based vehicle insurance, overbearing controlling admins in RP (perhaps the worst in the whole DayZ community). and general admin toxicity is rampant.

I could go on and on. Overall, this game was built for PC and is meant to be played on PC. There's a server for everyone with varying levels of mods added to give you the exact DayZ experience you're looking for. My advice - make the switch and don't look back, it's so much better.
