Yellow Sign - Playable all game sizes 4+, only to be played only if already 3 core factions are in play. Crawling Chaos - Playable all games, core. Black Goat - Playable all games, core.
Cthulhu Wars offers tons of variety, a good amount of strategy and still plays fast at any player count; it’s also hard to beat on pure spectacle. However, even on sale, that is a lot of money and there are many games that offer pretty similar experiences for a fraction of the price.
Cthulhu Wars is an extremely good asymmetric Risk-style game— and waaay better than Risk. The asymmetric powers make it much more interesting than Risk and the game is much quicker to play. It’s totally worth getting.
