The area used to be a part of the grounds of Bidston Manor, and still contains a number of interesting historic buildings including a windmill and the Bidston Observatory.   4. Jan 2, 2022 · Pleasant walk around Bidston heritage trail. I was looking for short walks in Merseyside to explore with my 8 year old and came across Bidston heritage trail on and around Bidston Hill. Took about an 1 and half hours. We parked up in the carpark next to the tam o farm which is free. Plenty of dog walkers about.

In 1929 its work was merged with the University of Liverpool Tidal Institute, which was then taken over in 1969 by the Natural Environment Research Council.
