- This has to rate as one of the best comedy series ever, with its wonderful mix of characters drawn from all walks of life, even the odd upper class character trying to get a holiday on the cheap. As it is mostly a Sitcom, the characters don't need to venture into Benidorm much to liven up the proceedings.

Benidorm is my comfort TV show - well, that and The Inbetweeners - it always picks my mood up. Must be the Spanish sun. Or Benidorm's favourite swingers, Donald & Jacqueline. Personally, I love it all the way through to season 8. After that is starts to drop.
Some people use the term "disposable entertainment" negatively. But there was something reliable about an episode of Benidorm. You could watch it in the hotel room, casually in the middle of the week or as part of your weekend viewing.
It's surprisingly good IMO. I tend to avoid ITV shows but found it much better than expected. It seems to tail off after I think series 7. There are some great cameos throughout though! Tim Healy is class in it!
I've just binge watched up to series 7. Honestly, I think Series 3 is the best series 'as a whole'. Absolutely stellar cast and for me, the episodes where Noreen thinks the Oracle is gay and when Madge's other daughter turns up are 2 of the best of the entire show!
