Just wanted to share: BA on-line check-in refused to recognise my US visa, even though still valid, because it was in a previous passport. The BA helpline was hopeless - the very unhelpful person told me to call a number at Heathrow, which turned out to be Lost Property!
It's not unusual for travellers who have long duration, multiple entry visas so are travelling on a newer passport to be unable to do online check in and need to have their passports and visas verified manually at a check in desk at an airport.

Jul 30, 2015 · Just tried to check in for LHR-JFK tomorrow, and BA say they can't check me in due to their security systems saying I don't have a valid ESTA and that I'll have to check in at the airport. Checked the ESTA website, and it confirms I have a valid ESTA.
