  2. There are free/cheaper alternatives. AutoCAD LT is one (3D modeling, LISP and Express Tools aren't included). I've heard that NanoCAD is a good alternative and they have a free evaluation version. There is also Rhino which can do a lot of what AutoCAD can (and more) and has perpetual licensing.
