  3. I absolutely love Archipelago. It's a great mix of pseudo 4x (without the "exterminate") and Euro mechanics. In a lot of ways, the mechanics would seem somewhat counter-intuitive, except they fit the theme so well that the theme actually makes the game easier to teach and remember.

  8. I have a chance to get Archipelago for a fairly reasonable price (used, for about 70 percent of MSRP). It's been on my wish list for a while, but I've noticed it seems to be constantly in and out of print, and doesn't get discussed much on here or other gaming groups.
