- AP Bio vs. AP Chem: Which one is tougher? | CollegeVine
If you are into more theology of the science, biology is better. However, if you are more into math, then chemistry would be better. If there is no prior knowledge biology is definitely easier.
Definitely take AP Chemistry. College chem goes much more in depth. IMO Chemistry is harder than biology. Intro Biology is easier to make connections and requires less critical thinking. Ex) photosynthesis, cellular respiration was the hardest topic for most people.
If you're more comfortable with math and problem-solving, AP Chemistry might be a better fit for you. On the other hand, if you enjoy learning about living organisms and are stronger in memorizing information, you might find AP Biology more enjoyable.
If you're leaning towards a major in life sciences or medicine, AP Biology would be a great choice. Chemistry is often a prerequisite for majors in engineering, pharmacy, or pre-med; thus, AP Chemistry would be helpful.
