Director Chris Robinson hones that reality from the offset in the coming-of-age drama, which mixes a fallen-from-grace music producer with a high school kid with talent but who is crippled by PTSD due to the death of his sister from gun crime.

  6. Thoughts on Beats (2019) Personally, I really liked the movie. It had a lot of charm and originality. I like the chemistry between the actors, and overall I found it to be a very good re-watchable movie. I also do agree with everyone there the material probably could’ve been better adapted as a miniseries for better pacing and such.

Jun 23, 2019 · It has some very graphic gun violence (point blank shot, having life changing consequences) and very detailed moments of physiological traum, due to gun violence and the hard truth of what many minority neighborhood's face. I could see a mature 10yr old watching this, but if children/adolescents is squeamish this would not be a well suited movie.
