If you're fine with gay couples and just don't like the fetishistic and often rapey tropes of BL, you shouldn't have many issues with Banana Fish. While Banana Fish features topics like rape it certainly doesn't in a titillating way.

Jan 18, 2023 · Banana fish is a great anime and I'd definitely recommend it. BUT be warned: not only is it not a feel-good anime, but after finishing it, it will most likely leave you devastated. Though the ending itself is open, the 24 episodes of this anime touch on REALLY heavy topics such as sex trafficking, pedophilia and child rape.
