- Yes, "The Heat" is a cop-buddy film, and of course there is a case to be solved. But nobody cares about the familiarity of the premise. What matters is the dynamic between the leads, and here it's consistently humorous, entertaining, often cringe-inducting due to the awkwardness, and, occasionally deep.
