The new rules, in the form of the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023 (the Act), will require directors, members and owners to verify their identity at Companies House, along with a number of other changes to be aware of including two new offences relating to economic crime.
Incorporate a private limited company - register it with Companies House and rules on directors, shares, articles of association and telling HMRC about the company.
For new companies – a statement must be provided at incorporation confirming that the identities of all directors have been verified. For existing companies – directors must, at the same time as delivering the confirmation statement to Companies House, provide a verification statement.
