- Elevate your raised beds. This beautiful duo of archways adds an extra dimension to a springtime scene whilst framing the pathway between raised garden bed ideas.
- Create impact with a series of archways. Here's a style that's big and certainly bold. This show garden is inspired by the classical architecture of Rome and blends industrial and romantic tones with its mix of materials.
- Go modern and minimal. This sleek, straight-edged design is certainly a contrast to the more classical approach above, but could be ideal for contemporary spaces.
- Opt for romantic beauty with a rose arch. Rose-covered garden archway ideas are a classic choice and will reliably add a sense of romanticism to a space.
- Rustic Wooden Archway. A classic wooden garden arch is ideal for a rustic outdoor space. This arch is built from wood and looks perfect when it is left natural and allowed to naturally age with the weather elements over time.
- Wrought Iron Arch. A thoughtfully-crafted wrought iron arch is a classic choice to add a touch of grace and elegance to your outdoor space. Its classic appearance and intricate design are always in vogue.
- Bamboo Garden Arch. If you want to give a tropical feel to your garden, building a bamboo arch is a good bet. The bamboo arch has an elegant, airy look and supports vines and other plants.
- Simple Vertical Garden Planter. If you’ve got limited space, this type of garden arch works best. The simple vertical garden planter uses vertical space and creates an attractive display!
- Figure A: Garden Arch. Cut the pieces to these dimensions to create the arch. All measurements given on Figure A are for standard “surfaced” lumber. If you choose “rough-sawn” lumber as we did, some measurements will change slightly because rough-sawn lumber dimensions vary.
- Notch the Beams. To get started, cut notches in the tops of the beams. If you’re using “rough-sawn” lumber as we did, you may have to change the length and depth of these notches to suit your 2×8 headers.
- Mark the Brackets. Next, mark out the brackets without fussy measurements or geometry – just align a framing square with the edges of a 2×10, make three marks and cut the 2×8 headers to length.
- Draw the Arcs. The curved brackets may look complicated, but they’re easy to mark out since they’re based on a standard framing square. After marking with the square, set a nail in your sawhorse 20 in.
You might want to add a garden arch to your garden for many purposes. Whatever the reason, take a look at these DIY garden arch plans for inspiration.
Whether you want to create a focal point in your garden or provide a support for climbing plants, a garden arch is a perfect addition. To make a garden arch, you will need to choose the right materials, design a plan, and follow a few simple steps.
