Laurie B. Friedman (born 1964) is an American author. [1] Friedman is best known for the Mallory McDonald chapter book series for 7–10-year olds, published by Darby Creek, a division of Lerner Publishing Group. [2][3] She has also written Ruby Valentine Saves the Day, I'm Not Afraid of this Haunted House, and Back-to-School Rules. [4]
In the opening sequence of the plot of the novel, it is shown that Mallory McDonald is just a small girl of about eight and a half years old. When she is told by her parents that they are going to move and she too has to come with them, she becomes extremely mad at them.
