This new technology is called VoIP or Voice Over Internet Protocol - also known as Internet Calls. All home phone providers are upgrading their networks, with Internet Calls being rolled out across most of the UK by the end of 2025. Sky Talk is Sky’s home phone service. The basic Pay As You Talk option is included automatically with any of their broadband deals, but there are another three options to choose from if you’d like something more comprehensive.
Sky Pay As You Talk only charges you for the calls you make, meaning it's ideal for those who don't use their home phone that often. Because of this, Sky Pay As You Talk is considered one of the UK's cheapest home phone services.
Sky Pay As You Talk comes as standard with all Sky Broadband deals. You'll only pay for the calls you make, which means no extra costs will be added onto your package. You also have the option of upgrading to additional tariffs, such as Evenings & Weekends Extra, Talk Anytime Extra and International Extra, at an additional monthly cost.
Enjoy inclusive calls to UK landlines and mobiles after 7pm Monday to Friday, as well as all day on weekends. International landline calls are charged at standard rates. The Sky Talk Evenings & Weekends Extra tariff costs an extra £5 per month when added onto your selected Sky package.
With Sky Anytime Extra, you’ll receive inclusive calls to UK landlines and mobiles at any time throughout the week, and at weekends. This tariff will set you back just £12 per month on top of your selected Sky subscription.
Stay in touch with loved ones all across the world with Sky Talk International Extra, which gives you inclusive international calls to 50 global destinations. Sky customers are required to take line rental from Sky as part of their broadband deal, and this will be included in the package’s overall cost. Free with line rental are features such as the ability to withhold your number, and to dial 1471 to see the last caller’s number.
If you’d like even more from your Sky Talk deal, you can pay extra each month to add on features like call diversion, three-way calling, call waiting, anonymous caller reject and voicemail plus.
