About. Built in 1610 and extended in 1670 when it was at the heart of Restoration court life, Ham House is Europe's most complete surviving example of 17th century fashion and power. The garden is one of the few formal gardens to survive the English Landscape movement, and out buildings house an Orangery, brick ice house, dairy and still house.
