As of 2024, 44 clubs have won the FA Cup. The record for the most wins is held by Arsenal, with 14 victories. [2] Only one surviving club, Blackburn Rovers, have won the cup in three consecutive years, a feat that was also achieved by the now dissolved Wanderers.
In 1966 the club won the FA Cup with a 3–2 win over Sheffield Wednesday. [29] Everton again reached the final in 1968, but this time were unable to overcome West Bromwich Albion at Wembley. [30] Two seasons later in 1969–70, Everton won the League Championship, finishing nine points clear of nearest rivals Leeds United. [31]
In 1893, they reach their first FA Cup final (a loss against Wolverhampton). It wasn't all roses for the club, however; Everton would finish as runners-up five times before claiming their second League title in 1915, with only a single FA Cup victory in between.
