  8. Jul 8, 2016 · That TRAINS Magazine has lost some 40,000 readers in less than 20 years is unsettling. I would opine that the 2000 readers lost per year would run heavily with companion obituaries. One might argue differently, but I don't think the magazine has declined in quality, so a large portion of the loss might then be attributed to a dearth of new subscriptions.
