This is about the tv series, If you cant find what Wayside School you are looking for, Go to Wayside School.

is a Canadian animated comedy sitcom developed by John Derevlany and produced by Nelvana Limited. It is based on the Wayside School books written by Louis Sachar, although it does have many differences. The show focuses on Todd (Mark Rendall & Michael Cera), a transfer student at the off-beat Wayside School, as he adjusts to his new surroundings.

Derevlany conceived the series in 2003, and a 50 minute long pilot entitled Wayside: The Movie was produced in 2005. Afterwards, Teletoon greenlit 26 twenty-two minute long episodes of the show, allowing it to run for two seasons, each with 13 episodes consisting of two segments each. The series ended on July 9, 2008, with the premiere of "Upside Down John" and "The Final Stretch". It aired on Nickelodeon from June 25, 2007 to April 5, 2010. It had reruns on YTV. The show was supposed to get a third season in 2012, but the discussion is just a hoax.

The show was met with some positive reception, and was nominated for a "Best TV Series for Children" award by RAI in 2008. However, criticisms have also been drawn in comparison to the books, often criticizing the show for having weaker characterization as the books. The response to the show is largely mixed.

is based at Wayside School, an offbeat elementary school that was accidentally built sideways without a nineteenth story. The show follows Todd (Mark Rendall) (Michael Cera in the pilot), a transfer student who has to adjust to Wayside School's unusual students, environment, and teaching. Unused to Wayside School's teaching style, he frequently get...

There are a number of notable differences between Wayside and Sideways Stories from Wayside School:

•In the book the first time a student gets in trouble gets their name written on the blackboard under the word DISCIPLINE, the second time they get it checked, the third time they get it circled and are sent home at noon on the kindergarten bus. In Sammy's case however, he got in trouble four times, in which case Mrs. Jewls put a triangle around the circle. In the show nobody gets in trouble except Todd who just gets sent home early without the first two warnings.

•In the show Todd doesn't get in trouble for talking (although he did in the pilot). In the book he gets in trouble the most for talking (asking questions).

•In Wayside the building from the outsides of the rooms are colorful and the building doesn't have the same shape as in the book.

•In the book John only had to stand on his head when something was written on the blackboard, but in the show he is upside down almost, if not 100% of the time.

•In the book, Todd is not a transfer student, although there were two transfer students (Sue and Benjamin) in the book chronology. Neither Sue nor Benjamin have been seen (or at least named) in Wayside yet.
