There were also multiple artifacts out for display as well, that related in some way, shape or form to President Hayes. The basement level focused on his early life, and the ground floor of the museum focused on his life as President.

Because Hayes was a collector of presidential artifacts, a Presidents Gallery features item from commanders in chief through Barack Obama (the museum continued the collection after Hayes’ death), including a pair of Abraham Lincoln’s slippers.
