Before heading to Berlin, where Black Ice [+ see also: film review trailer interview: Kai Nordberg interview: Petri Kotwica film profile] is screening in official competition, Petri Kotwica had the pleasure of filling his bag with six Jussi awards at Sunday’s annual ceremony in Helsinki, organised by Filmiaura, which represents 250 Finnish industry professionals.
The original planned name for the prize was Aino, but Jussi won in the end. The name comes from a character in the 1924 and 1936 Pohjalaisia films. [ 6 ] [ 7 ]
The soundtrack for Black Ice was recorded by the well-known band Apocalyptica. The film was nominated for the Best Director award at the Berlin International Film Festival and won many awards, including six Finnish Jussi Awards – for example for Best Film, Best Leading Actress or Best Script.

Black ice is a strong film, with excellent characterisation, plot development, and filming; in fact it won seven Finnish Jussi (film industry) awards in 2008 including Best Film, Best Director, Best Script, Best Editing, Best Music, and Best Actress.
