    Our brilliant ‘Captain Codd’ adventure trail will be free for all children to enjoy around the Museum. Please bring your own pencil.

    Our Shop will be open. Contactless payment is preferred. All purchases support our work as a charity.

    We have a fully accessible toilet. Please take extra care to maintain social distancing and cleanliness. Cleaning will take place regularly so please expect brief periods of closure. Public toilets are also available nearby in the South Street carpark.

    Yes! Our rope makers will be running demonstrationsat 11.00am on some days. Demos do depend on volunteer available, so if you are coming specifically for the demonstration we recommend phoning in advance.

  4. An excellent small museum ranging from fossils, to nets made for the space age. Bridport is famous for ropes and nets, which have been traded across the world for centuries. NASA came here for space shuttle crash nets and the British army use 'secret' material ones instead or bar armour!

  7. Small local museum with a focus on rope making history of Bridport and fossils. Visited one Tuesday and returned the following day for the rope making demonstration. Excellent staff/volunteers, super friendly and informative which made the visit a pleasure. Their enthusiasm was infectious.
