If you're playing for story, so a game like Yakuza 0, which takes hours to really get going (but is 100% worth it), then I'd say at least 4 or so hours. 10 minutes to 1 hour. It depends on how badly I want to give the game a chance. I will try to beat at most 2 or 3 bosses before quitting .
I'll give a game probably an afternoon. Regardless of price, if I'm not enjoying it after a few hours, I park it. Sometimes I'll go back in a few months and give it another chance.

It depends on the game. If im reading online that the game is slow to start but gets better (ex-Days Gone) then I don't mind if the first 5 to 8 hours are a bit slow. I feel like some may call that ridiculous but if you just bounce off games after 30 minutes, you will miss a LOT of great games like Days Gone. To each their own of course.
