However, the specific requirements might vary depending on the pension scheme you’re enrolled in and your individual circumstances.
The basic War Pension is worked out based on your degree of disability as a percentage. If you are assessed at 20% or more then you will receive a weekly pension. If you are assessed at less than 20% you will receive a one-off lump sum payment instead.
A claim under the War Pensions Scheme can take up to six months to process, but it might take longer if your case is complicated. If your claim isn’t complete within three months, Veterans UK will send you progress updates every 12 weeks until your claim is complete.
