Season 1 is in some ways the best season and in some ways not. It's probably the slowest season, and if that's not your thing then you will like other seasons better. My favourite season is season 3 (but most people consider the first episodes of that season as the worst stretch of the show).

So, with as much of an open mind as possible, I went into season 1. Here's the first two words I have to say about it: rough beginnings. The season starts off at its peak, with both parts of Pilot and Tabula Rasa forming a compelling, legendary cinematic opening for the show.

From Jack opening his eyes on the island and realizing where he is to the plane crash that starts it all, the two-part pilot of Lost is definitely a fan favorite. It's hard not to think that the show is off a flawless start as the characters realize that they're stuck on an island and that they have to rely on each other if they want to survive. RE...
Kate Austen's Lost love interests Jack and Sawyerare both good for her in different ways, but in season 1, it's all about Jack and Kate bonding and getting to know each other. Danielle Rosseau teaches the Oceanic Six a lot about the island that they have found themselves trapped on, including letting them know that there are some dangerous people called The Others. Boone Carlyle's death is one of the saddest deaths on Lostas he investigates a small plane and then when it falls out of the tree, he falls too and doesn't make it thanks to his severe injuries. Boone left a lot unsaid, including his romantic feelings for Shannon Rutherford, his stepsister. While Shannon can tell how Boone feels, they never have a ...
The season 1 episode "Outlaws" stands out because Sawyer puts the puzzle pieces together in his head and realizes that he met Jack's father Christian once. While this might be a small moment in the context of a dramatic season, it ultimately proves that the characters are connected to each other and were even before their plane crashed onto the isl...
Many of Hurley Reyes's best Lost quotesinvolve him talking about "the numbers:" 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, and 24. Before boarding flight Oceanic 815, Hurley played these numbers and won millions in the lottery, which became a curse in his eyes. By the time he gets to the island, Hurley is burdened and haunted by this, and when he starts seeing the numbers ...
In the episode "Deus Ex Machina," fans learn that Locke's father, Anthony, got back in touch with him and asked if Locke would donate a kidney. After Locke did, his father never spoke to him again, with Locke having the chilling realization that his dad never wanted to be part of his life at all. Claire doesn't get a great ending on Lost, but in season 1, she's one of the major players with a shocking and dramatic storyline. As Claire is pregnant when she arrives on the island, everyone is nervous about what will happen. The Others take Claire and Sayid realizes that Danielle took Claire's baby Aaron. Claire has a really tough, scary time d...
Fans knew that the season 1 finale of Lost would have to be big and bold, and it definitely delivered. Much of the three-part episode is devoted to Locke and Jack seeing the hatch and wondering what is down there. This sets up season 2 and shows viewers that this won't be a show with any easy answers. While that proves to be frustrating at times, L...

Sep 10, 2014 · Season 1 is probably my favourite season, although it has been some time since I have seen it so I can't remember every episode in great detail (I already need a rewatch!). But it was a great season that set up all these mysteries that would be explored much later.
