The Good: Love the gunplay and that the guns have their real names. Love map voting, persistent lobbies, no sbmm, and input-based matchmaking. The maps are all well-designed and flow nicely. The firing range is fun and engaging. The game in general is a beauty to look at. Love the open and honest feedback from the devs to the community.
Kicking off with the gunplay, Aim Assist has become a crutch to most gamers who aim with analogue sticks, yet XDefiant has toned this down quite severely. There is still aim assist for controller users but it's minimal, and this does make you think twice before firing your weapons across the map.

The good: I love the gunplay. Though some guns are obviously the better pick, I have found every gun i’ve used so far to be viable. The attachment simplicity and noticeable effects is also very nice.
Jun 29, 2024 · Right out of the gate, XDefiant’s feel and gunplay feel good, though there are issues with netcode and hit registration plaguing it currently (more on those later). That said, when the game works as intended, the actual combat encounters feel tight, exciting, and fast-paced.
