Determined to rescue his father, Pinocchio reunites with Geppetto and his pets inside Monstro, where Pinocchio burns spare furniture to choke their captor into releasing them. This done, Monstro pursues them to the coast, where Pinocchio pulls Geppetto to safety, but himself falls senseless.
Geppetto's character arc is centered around his unwavering love for Pinocchio. He faces numerous challenges and hardships but remains dedicated to guiding and protecting his wooden son. Geppetto's arc culminates in his rescue from the belly of a whale, where he is reunited with Pinocchio.

After further adventures, Pinocchio is swallowed by the Terrible Shark and finds Geppetto living in the shark’s belly. Pinocchio rescues his father and thereafter takes care of him. The Fairy then turns Pinocchio into a real boy.
In the last chapter, out of the mouth of The Terrible Dogfish with Geppetto, Pinocchio finally stops being a puppet and becomes a real boy (thanks to the intervention of the Fairy in a dream). In the novel, Pinocchio is often depicted with a pointy hat, a jacket, and a pair of colored, knee-length pants.
After Pinocchio saves Geppetto, he then works to provide for his father’s health and studies hard at night.
