May 21, 2015 · Cersei usually overestimates her intelligence, but she is smart enough to know that the Squire's testimony has Margaery in the bag. Why defend her? Cersei has been pretty quiet about arming the Faith Militant, shrugging it off as not my problem, inconsistent with her typical micromanaging and paranoia.
Cersei hates Margaery because she's jealous that she's younger, prettier and has the ear and love of her baby boy Tommen. The first scene of S05 E01 shows the prophecy that she was told as a young girl, that she would be queen for a time but a younger, prettier queen would take her place.
