Registration Information. MAIN REGISTER. The Society has four principle registers the first one being the Breed Register or Main Register. Animals are entered into the Main Register of the Society on breeding only, therefore a horse in order to be eligible for entry into the Main Register must be the offspring of two Main Registered parents.
The Appaloosa Horse Club UK has four breed registers: A Register – which is for ApHC (USA) registered horses. B Register – which is for British registered Appaloosas. C Register – which is Characteristic for horses that have unknown or ineligible breeding. P Register – which is Part-bred.

Can I register a foal/horse which has one Coloured parent? If the other parent is a registered appaloosa with a sire or dam in our main register then it is now possible to register offspring. Subject to a negative test for coloured genes it would register into our normal Appendix Part Bred Register.

A. Application requirements for registered Appaloosa horses for which a Performance Permit is sought are as follows: To be eligible to apply for a Performance Permit, the horse must be registered with the ApHC in the non-characteristic (N) category.
