A Yo-kai Medal (Japanese: 妖怪メダル, Yōkai Medaru) is a small coin-like disc used with the Yo-kai Watch to summon Yo-kai. They are featured in the video games and the anime, in which are given to the protagonists by Yo-kai as a sign of their friendship and stored in the Yo-kai Medallium.
The first set of regular medals was released in Winter 2015 for the United States and Spring 2016 for Europe. It includes 43 normal medals with 1 legendary. The first series of Yo-motion Medals were released in September 2016 in North America, and France, Spain and Italy in February 2017.

Yo-Kai Medals (妖怪メダル) are small collectible toys that serve many purposes in the Yo-kai Watch line of toys and games. There are many frames types and colors as well as plain or rarer holographic art on each medal.
Yo-kai Medals. Yo-kai Medals are sold in blind packs and can be used with the Yo-kai Watch toys. There are also QR codes on the back of them that allow them to be scanned in order to give bonuses in the video games. On average, a new Series of Yo-kai Medals is released every two months.
The medals can be used as roulette tokens to obtain special prizes, including the Yo-kai Watch Dream itself. While not compatible with the DX Yo-kai Watch Model U, the Dream Medals can indeed emit sounds from the toy.
