It sounds counter-intuitive since Wyvern has a spell that does %-based damage but his pure damage goes through the heal and the lane is typically going to be pretty easy. Wyvern can go on you once with Arctic Burn, you chain away, and she's useless until her next Burn.

After venturing through the tunnel Sonic and Knuckles create during the crane mini-game, you'll enter a large desert arena and watch a cutscene. We'll learn that the dragon soaring above Ares Island is known as the Wyvern, and, much like last time, has the final chaos emerald strapped to his back.
That means we'll have to find a way to climb to the emerald. When you regain control, head towards the large tower directly in front of you. At its base, you'll see the beginning of an obstacle course, with springs and glowing walls. We'll want to ascend the tower from here. Use the springs at the base to begin the climb, grinding up a rail, climbing a glowing wall and then boosting your way through a series of obstacles.
When you regain control, you'll be high in the sky with the Wyvern. This next part of the encounter will see you race down the red lightning trails it's firing from its mouth.
The key here is to keep moving and dodge the small lightning orbs that come your way. To dodge right, hit R1 / RB. To dodge left, hit L1 / LB.
When the lightning trail cuts off, you can use homing attack on the spinning lightning rods in the sky to make your way over to the next lightning trail. Keep pushing forward and you'll eventually reach the end of the trail.
Sonic will hop down onto the Wyvern's back. You'll find the purple chaos emerald stored in a vault on its head. Walk over to the emerald and open the vault to add it to your collection and officially unleash Super Sonic.
Now in Super Sonic form, we'll be able to take the fight to the Wyvern. As always, Sonic takes no damage in Super Sonic form. However, his rings will gradually deplete. If these hit zero, it's game over, so we're effectively on a time limit.
Unlike the Giganto fight, the Wyvern is far more about setting up the boss for a brutal beatdown. To do this, we'll want to wait for him to fire rockets at us. When he does, hold down L1 + R1 to get into parry position and send the rockets back to him.
Sonic will then fly close to the Wyvern and bait it into unleashing its best move. When it begins to spin, parry again to stun the Wyvern. With it's stunned, unleash all the damage you can.
After a few shots, it'll recompose itself and quickly set up another attack. Parry again as fast as you can and Sonic will deflect the Wyvern, opening up a special attack. Hit TRIANGLE + CIRCLE / Y + B and Sonic will swing the Wyvern into some nearby boulders.
Repeat this cycle until the Wyvern is at about half health. It'll then grow multiple lightning coils and begin firing red lasers around the arena. From now on, we'll want to repeat the same cycle while avoiding being hit by the lasers.
The other major difference during this phase is that the Wyvern will be able to tank your first parry and attack a second time, meaning you'll need to parry twice. You can't achieve this by simply holding the parry, so after you parry the Wyvern's first attack, release the parry buttons and then press them down again. Once you've executed two parries, you'll stun the beast.
After a few more hits, you'll cue a final QTE sequence, with the Wyvern firing rockets at Sonic. When a large red circle with a button input in its centre appears on the screen, wait for the smaller white circle in the centre of the screen to align with the red circle and then press the button input. Sonic will launch the rockets back at the Wyvern.
You'll then be able to hit the Wyvern with a few more attacks before another circle QTE occurs. Perform it correctly then mash SQUARE / X when prompted. Complete a third and final circle QTE and another mashing sequence to finish the Wyvern off for good.
