  3. Wayne is great and has his own bit of growth going on too, but Del has way more complexity and growth going on, she is really figuring out so much about herself. I mean most of the side character's get a remarkable amount of focus and growth too, which is what really makes this show great, but I agree that Del is arguably the primary focus, and Wayne is the supporting character.

  4. Edit - The dad says stuff along the lines of "your ma did something stupid" and "they said it was an accident". Sounds like drugs to me. Edit 2 - We know her mom took harder drugs because of the blackmail video. She died in a meth lab explosion. Del says it in one of the episodes, I can’t remember which one.
