- Call upon the Lord (Pray) (Matthew 6:10; Luke 6:12–13; James 1:5). To know God’s will, we should ask Him for wisdom: “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you” (James 1:5).
- commit your decision to God. Make it a matter of regular prayer, asking God to guide you and make His will known to you.
- read the Scriptures. Does the Bible give any direct guidance about the decision you are facing? Does any principle in the Bible apply to your situation?
- understand your circumstances. God isn’t only working in us; He also is working around us. Often God guides us through our circumstances.
- seek godly advice. God has given some people a special gift of wisdom, and when we face a decision, it’s often helpful to seek their counsel.
May 27, 2019 · God’s will is revealed in Scripture and it pleases Him when we desire and do what He instructs. This can be a wonderful Bible study. “The world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever” (1 John 2:17, ESV). To those who truly seek God’s will, the key is to become more and more like Christ.
