The question becomes when should you reroll a d6 over the d8 or the d10. The answer is likely going to be that you reroll 1s on d6s if your d8 is a 3 or above or your d10 is a 4 or above, but could be a 4/5 or above respectively.
The expected value of rerolling a 4 on a d8 is + .5, whereas the expected value of a future d8 with a reroll is +1 (5.5 vs a standard d8 at 4.5). You should expect better results by saving your reroll as long as you have a >50% chance to hit on a future attack.
Rerolling a 5 is .5 expected damage. A d10 expects to get ~1.38 expected damage from an attack with a reroll available (slightly more if you have increased crit chance because the reroll is roughly twice as valuable for crits). So unless you have less than a 40% chance to hit (only hit on a 13), then you're better off waiting for your next attack.
Feb 7, 2022 · If it's resource-free, I'd reroll a 3 on a d6, 4 on a d8, 5 on a d10, unless you think your current damage is enough to KO the target. Agree with the suggestion above to reroll the die that has the largest delta to its average.

For a d8, 1/8=12.5% chance of a reroll. If you are counting successes, then that reroll has a 50% chance of granting you a success. Thus, the 1 adds 6.25% chance of generating a success (12.5% chance of rolling the value at all, multiply that by the 50% chance of generating a success).
