    New College welcomes everyone and we want our disabled visitors to have a great experience with us. We offer free entry to companions or carers of disabled visitors. The disabled guests pays the reduced concession admission fee upon entry (carer/companion free).

    New College is a place of study all year round. Please therefore do not enter staircases, college rooms, or areas marked as private. The Cloisters, Hall, Chapel and Gardens are fully accessible (access to the hall is via a lift) but please be aware that our grounds have uneven surfaces.

    Dogs, except guide dogs, are not allowed in the college
    Please do not walk on the grass or picnic in the grounds

  3. The main entrance is on Holywell Street and is step free. There is an alternative entrance on New College Lane that is also step free. New College has a large site with five quads and gardens - there is step free access around most of the site.

  4. This lane twists and turns past a number of colleges, including Hertford and New Colleges. It’s a perfect example of Oxford’s architectural heritage. The main feature is the Hertford Bridge, popularly known as the Bridge of Sighs because of its alleged similarity to the one in Venice.

  6. There is a rear entrance to New College. The lane is largely surrounded by high stone walls, with few windows. Some good examples of gargoyles can be seen, a feature of Oxford college architecture.
