YouTube movie & TV show purchases can now be viewed offline using the YouTube app. Once you buy or rent the content you’re interested in, it can be downloaded on an iOS or Android device and watched at any time. Your device won’t have to be connected to the internet to watch your content.
To download your purchase, you’ll need to be signed in to your YouTube app using the same Google Account used to make the purchase.
You can download purchased movies and TV show episodes on up to five devices.
Rented movies and TV show episodes can only be downloaded on one device at a time. To download a rented video on another device, you have to remove it from the first device and then download it again to the desired device.
Note: You cannot download a movie or TV show episode on both the YouTube app and the Google Play Movies & TV app on the same device, at the same time. You will first need to remove it from one in order to download it on the other. You can read here below on how to remove a download on YouTube. To download a rental or purchase for offline viewing, follow these steps:
1. Purchase or rent the movie or TV show episodes you want on a computer or mobile device, or on a smart TV.
2. Using an iOS or Android device, sign in to the YouTube app using the same account you used for renting or purchasing the content.
You can access your downloaded movies and TV show episodes in the YouTube app by tapping your profile picture, then Downloads.
For rentals: Your movie or TV show episodes will be available during the rental period. After you rent a movie or TV show episode, you have 30 days to start viewing it. Once you've started the movie, you can watch it as many times as you like until your rental period ends. Rental periods are usually 48 hours, but the final page of checkout for a rental will note the length of your rental period. See our Usage Rules for more info.
To remove a movie or TV show episode from your downloads:
1. In the YouTube app, tap your profile picture .
2. Tap Downloads .
3. Find the downloaded movie or TV episode that you’d like to remove.
4. Tap Menu next to the movie or TV show episode.
5. Tap Delete from downloads.

Using an iOS or Android device, sign in to the YouTube app using the same account that you used to rent or purchase the content. Tap on Your movies and TV.

Open the YouTube app on your device. On the left side navigation, scroll down to the bottom to find YouTube TV. Select YouTube TV to open the app. If it’s your first time doing this, you’ll need to sign in to YouTube TV.
