To summon a demon you need to perform a three part ritual: the protection ritual, where you create the protection spells and sigils, the summoning ritual where you invoke the demon using its sigil and evocation keys, and finally the communication ritual where you tell the demon your wish.
The Demon (and the Arch Demon on Old-gen console, Windows Phone, and ) is an enemy found in The Underworld. It attacks by summoning volleys of four spinning purple blades that accelerate towards the player, which are similar those fired by the Demon Scythe spell that it has a chance to drop.

•Like normal Demons, Voodoo Demons are immune to lava.
•They have a fairly low spawn rate compared to Demons and Arch Demons.
•The Wall of Flesh will only be summoned if the Guide Voodoo Doll drops as an item and is destroyed by lava (as long as the Guide is alive). As the Voodoo Demon and the entire sprite is immune to lava, the doll will not be destroyed if the Demon makes contact with it.
•The Voodoo Demon is considered as a normal Demon for the purposes of the Tally Counter and Banners.
•It may be worth investing time into building a 1-block thick bridge over a large portion of the Underworld. This will both ensure that no Guide Voodoo Dolls accidentally fall in lava and make the fight with the Wall of Flesh more manageable.
•In order to effectively farm Guide Voodoo Dolls, it may be worth utilizing the 1 block thick bridge as an arena for battling multiple Demons at once, due to the low spawn rate of Voodoo Demons.
•However, it is worth noting that farming for a Guide Voodoo Doll is not as useful in the PC version, Console version, Mobile version, and tModLoader version, as throwing the Guide himself in lava can also summon the Wall of Flesh.
•The Voodoo Demon spawn rate is reduced in Hardmode and after a mechanical boss is defeated, as their spawn can be overridden by Red Devils and Tortured Souls; there is also a high spawn rate of Hellbats and Lava Slimes.
•The sound Voodoo Demons make when damaged by the player was not updated along with regular Demons in 1.3.0.1.
