There’s been quite a bit of discussion lately about how brutalized miruko has been during this arc, and that it’s only been done because of horikoshi’s fetish or misogyny. I’m wondering the general opinion on this take, because personally I don’t agree at all.
The spirits aren't evil, they just want their payment because they didn't protect her for free. The scene played out way different in the Manga (with even another character who saved her out of the huge shrine spirit who tried to swallow her)
With that said I think it’s very clear there’s some kind of bias against Mirko for some reason. She only had two (2) fights and got mauled in the two, by the face. So on the nose it doesn’t even feel like events that happen in a story. It feels like an author taking it out on a character.
She declares that she lives her life every day with no regrets, and that no mere zombies will be able to kill her. Elsewhere at the Police HQ, they report in about the fake Kyudai, Mirko's encounter with the real Kyudai, Team Endeavor's battle with the Nomu, and the High-Ends appearance.
