When Pierre grew old enough to strike out on his own, he headed to Utah, eventually becoming the cliff-hucking icon he’s remembered as.

    In 2011, Pierre was killed in an avalanche while riding at Snowbird, Utah. The resort wasn’t open yet, and he was riding in the South Chute area with a friend.
